On behalf of the Student Representative Council, we would like to thank students and parents for their commitment to supporting others who are in need. Our casual clothes day last Friday was a fun and effective way to raise funds for South Australians going hungry during this worldwide crisis. We are pleased to be able to contribute $876 to Foodbank SA, as well as the many other donations of household items that the UPS community is currently collecting.

Year 7 students Ben and Jemima capture the essence of this fundraising initiative: “Treating others the way you would like to be treated by helping out and showing care is important to Unley Primary School and is our golden rule. We are proud of the fact that students are willing to donate to help others, and in some cases, give their own money because they know that some people need it more than they do.”

Finally, we would like to give the Year 5 students in Room 19 a special mention for being the class with the most funds raised, with $70 as their class contribution.

Well done, everyone, for a successful fundraiser and for giving back to our community.
