The key question that the Year 4 and 5 students in room 22 have been trying to answer this term is ‘How can diversity unite us?’

We began the term by examining our own identity. Through abstract art and multimedia, we reflected on our own identity and expressed this in a variety of different ways. Take a look at some of the artwork we created!

We then examined some of the factors that may influence someone’s identity. We discovered lots of influencing factors. Some were on a micro-scale (for example our family) and some were on a macro-scale (for example the country we were born in).

Room 22 then set out on a mission to discover what cultural backgrounds, religions and other groups children belonged to in the school – particularly those on Campus 2.

Following this, we were given the opportunity to investigate a line of inquiry which interested us. We developed our own key questions to research which was linked to the diversity of our school and the findings of our questionnaires.

The class chose to research a wide range of things ranging from disabilities to countries and religions. We then showcased our learning through a book using the book creator app.
