Our student environmental leaders ‘The Planet Protectors’ are excited to announce their Urban Wildlife Project is a successful recipient of a Green Adelaide Grassroots Grant. Our project is amongst 37 projects receiving a share of $1 million to create a cooler, greener and wilder metropolitan Adelaide.

This project will support our school’s natural environment and biodiversity through –

  • the installation of 10 wildlife boxes to enhance habitat for hollow dependent fauna including Rainbow Lorikeets, Rosellas, Brushtail Possums and Microbats by providing shelter, protection from predators and safe spaces for nesting and caring for young
  • planting native vegetation in the red brick garden beds on Campus 1 to provide habitat, food and shelter for local fauna such as birds, butterflies and lizards
  • the development of interpretative signage, printed flyers and digital communications to inform and educate our students and community members about our local native fauna and flora

We look forward to nurturing respectful connections with our natural environment by our school community as we bring this project to life.
