We are very much looking forward to celebrating Harmony Day here at Unley Primary School next week.

On Thursday, the 24th March, we will celebrate Harmony Day and the diversity of our students and families. It is about community participation, inclusiveness, celebrating diversity, respect and belonging.

Students can wear the colour orange or traditional cultural dress on Thursday, the 24th March to show their support for Harmony Day and the continuing message that ‘EVERYONE BELONGS’. We also have some activities planned throughout the day to support this theme.

Unley Primary School benefits from a rich variety of culture backgrounds – we have 64 different cultures represented. One of these cultures represented in our community that is currently doing it very tough is Ukraine.

The Harmony Day committee met recently to discuss how we can support the people of Ukraine during the unfolding crisis. We would like to suggest that on Thursday when students dress in orange or traditional dress, they bring in a gold coin donation. These funds will then be donated to an appeal linked with the Ukrainian Association of Australia. 100% of all donations will directly go to Ukraine to help with humanitarian aid.

Alternatively you may like to make a donation via the QkR app.

Thank you for your support.
