The end of the school year will be full of opportunities to celebrate the many aspects of school life that are important to us at Unley. We are writing to provide some information on how the current COVID management directions will impact on our school community over the coming weeks.

While we are hopeful that our end of year events can go ahead safely, we will need your support and goodwill to ensure we comply with the COVID safe directions.

Ensuring we observe the density requirements at these events is key. All guests will need to RSVP ahead of time. In some cases, parents are asked to phone the front office to indicate their attendance. Other larger events involve an online booking. Please keep your eye on the school blog, UPS News, and the Skoolbag app to stay informed.

Thank You Assembly in Week 8 is our last formal assembly of the term. This will provide an opportunity for us to thank our wonderful community for their help throughout the year. Click here for details and phone the front office to RSVP.

Sports Presentation Assembly will be held on Tuesday 7 December at 2pm in the Sport Arts Centre. All students who have participated in school sport this year will receive a medal and enjoy a presentation from a guest speaker. Please RSVP by phoning the front office.

Celebration Night will be held as two separate concerts as we shared earlier this term. Click here for the save the date information. To comply with the density limits in the available space on the Campus 1 grassed area and soccer pitch, we will only be able to invite two adults per family. The event will be ticketed.

We understand that families are made up of a range of people who are important to children, including step-parents. On this occasion, we will need to limit attendance to those people who have been listed as parents number one and two on their child’s enrolment documents. Parents will be invited to register online before being sent a ticket. We will share more information about this process early next week.

Years 6 and 7 Graduation Ceremonies on Thursday 9 December will allow us to farewell our graduating students over two separate events, with a limit of three adult guests per student. A careful mathematical investigation of the Sport Arts Centre indicates this is possible within the current physical distancing requirements – just!

Finally, we have noticed that the use of our QR codes to check into the school has dropped off a little recently. Please be sure to check in upon entering the school grounds. This helps provide our community with a level of reassurance.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we do our best to navigate this wonderful time of year with some added considerations.
