Several Unley parents and carers recently attended a thought-provoking information session facilitated by clinical child psychologist Kirrilie Smout from Developing Minds. Kirrilie provided advice on how we can support children through emotional and social challenges during their primary school years. The session was highly informative and engaging, and we would like to share Kirrilie’s wisdom more widely with our school community.

One way parents can access this advice is by signing up for free newsletter articles on child mental health from Developing Minds. These articles provide practical ideas you can use with your child today to help them feel calm, confident and cooperative.

Also, Developing Minds has an online psychology resource for parents and their children called Calm Kid Central. This resource helps children with emotional, social or life challenges to learn the skills they need to feel calm, confident and cooperative.
