As we reported  last year, we are in the early stages of planning for a re-development of Building 8- the main  ‘Cedars’ building on Campus 2.

The aim is to create a learning area which encourages collaboration and connection, with a space to accommodate meeting areas, creativity and STEM learning.

At this stage we anticipate that building works will commence at the start of Term 4, but we will be sure to keep you informed along the way. This project builds upon some work our  Governing Council coordinated with architectural firm, Walter Brooke. We will now look to the tendering of the final planning stage and architectural plans. The project will be managed by our facilities managers, Spotless Services.

We have successfully applied for a capital works assistance grant (CWAS) which will add to some reserve funds and our UPS Building Fund to resource this project.

Hopefully, continued contributions to the tax deductible building fund will ensure a painless repayment over the coming years. We will promote  this further in Term 2 and will look forward to the important Governing Council breakfast later in the year. I’ll certainly be back to join in this event!
