On the 6th of December, two of our house captains, Henry Poskett and Archie Walch opened Unley Primary School’s Sports Assembly. We reflected how we are lucky to have children’s parents and caregivers driving children to sporting venues while supporting and coaching other students.
We are happy to announce that our UPS sports teams have increased significantly, as shown in this assembly. A variety of girls and boys have all participated in a range of different sports showing people to give everything a try!
This year Unley Primary has had girls participating in SAPSASA footy for the first time ever ,representing Unley! Our school has been very excited to give them a special certificate. Other sports including basketball, netball, cricket and soccer have had a magnificent amount of students participating, which is great! Keep up the good work!
In this event. We were very privileged to have Brad Jamieson from the Sydney Summer Olympics 4×4 400m relay event. His words of wisdom included how we can learn from playing sports, such as team work, and he inspired children to strive for achievement in sport.
We hope that all of the young athletes out there continue to thrive!
