Despite being met with grey skies and drizzle, Sports Day went ahead on Tuesday week 3 at Unley Oval. It was wonderful to hear the war cries of Rugby, Wattle and Cremorne sports teams across the field as we prepared to battle it out for the 2023 shield.

Students participated in range of exciting events across the day. For our younger students the sack race, egg and spoon relay, accuracy throw and parachute were all a huge hit. Highlights for the years 3-6 students included the hurdles, relays, high jump and long run. Despite dodging raindrops as much as we could, a huge downpour unfortunately saw us all diving for cover under the grandstand. With heavy hearts we had to end the day there and head back to school for the afternoon.

Weather permitting, we hope to run the Championship Relay here at school at 9:15am on Tuesday May 30 (Week 5) on the Campus One Soccer Pitch. Families, you are welcome to join us (and wear your colours) to cheer on the three teams as runners from every year level are represented in this relay. We will then award the UPS Sports Day Shield using the results from Sports Day and the relay to determine a final winner.

Who will win? Stay tuned…
