This year it is very exciting to share with you that our Musical Production of ‘Madagascar A Musical Adventure Jr’ will be performed this term.  

For those families who are new to Unley PS, our production term is very exciting for everyone!  

Our musical involves the whole school, we have 2 casts – CAST A and CAST B. The year 5/6 students are the actors and solo singers who perform on stage. By having 2 casts means that there are 2 of each character. The year 2/3/4 students are involved as the CHORUS. There will be 4 classes singing together in each cast. The Year R/1 students will be involved in the beginning of the show in the opening song. 

Last term our year 5/6 students auditioned for roles as characters on stage. We have cast our characters and the year 5/6 students have eagerly started rehearsals. Students across the school will learn their singing part in their classroom music lessons and through practising in their class.  

The musical will be performed in Week 10 of this term on Tuesday 4^th and Wednesday 5^th July in the evening. There will be 5pm and 7.30pm shows. Each Cast will perform 2 shows and 2 dress rehearsals. In Week 8 we take over the Sports Arts Centre, turn it into a theatre and it all starts to come together.

The musical is such a wonderful opportunity for the whole school to come together and produce a show for our school community.
