The Education & Wellbeing Committee is off to a great start this year, with 9 parent members this year, who have very generously agreed to volunteer their time and expertise in 2023.
Thank you to those of you who completed our Parent Feedback Survey. The results of the survey will help inform our planned activities for the year in the areas of wellbeing and education. Stay tuned for details of our first Parent Coffee Morning for 2023, which will be in Term 2 with a wellbeing focus. We hope to also hold additional education-focused Coffee Mornings throughout the year in response to parent interests.
We thought it would be timely to also remind existing families and communicate with new UPS families about existing wellbeing-related resources that we have at Unley already.
Parent Library
In the front office, there is a parent library of wellbeing and parenting books on the windowsill available for families to borrow at any time covering a range of topics such as children’s growth and development, positive parenting, mental health issues in children and building resilience in children. Please see the images below for an overview of the books we have available.
Wellbeing Page on the UPS Blog
All of the blog posts relating to wellbeing that are sent out to parents via the Unley Primary School News email each week are saved on our website in the Wellbeing section. You’ll find a fantastic range of topics covered including tips for managing anxiety in children, an overview of the Zones of Regulation model used at school to help children regulate their emotions and topics covering cyber safety.
