Each year, on ANZAC Day, there is a Dawn Service held in the Unley Soldier’s Memorial Gardens.  It is an opportunity for the community to honour all service men and women, past and present, many of whom were and are part of the local and surrounding communities.

The Dawn Service is always well attended and local groups, including schools, pay tribute through participation in the ceremony and the laying of wreaths.  The Unley PS community has been ably represented over many years by members of our Student Representative Council Executive, and this year was no exception.  Max, Sophia, Alyssa, Hugo, Andre and Abi together laid our wreath on the local schools’ memorial.  I was proud that such a big group chose to participate and represent our school.  It was noted by our local member that there was so many of them!

Of course, we also need to thank our SRC representative’s families, as they had to have a very early start!  The light on the faces of our group is testament to the early time of day.
