At Unley Primary School, there is an abundance of musical potential in students, and this is cultivated and demonstrated in our Instrumental Music Program. At the moment, we have 6 instrumental music teachers coming into Unley each week, and have over 70 students from Years 3 to 6 participating in these lessons.

Our Instrumental music night, held on Wednesday last week, was a great opportunity to showcase the dedication of the students who have been learning instruments at Unley this year. From rocking electric guitar riffs to the beautiful melodies of the UPS flautists, and a range of other talented musicians, the audience was in for a real musical treat!

We would like to thank all of the families that joined the audience on the night, as performing in front of such a large crowd is a big step for young musicians. We would also like to thank the many Instrumental Music teachers who have fostered students’ learning through the years, including Stephanie Pols, George Dinedios, Matt Walters, Michelangelo Micelli, Nathan Church, and Anne Rodda.  A big thank you also goes to Susan Marshall, the teacher of our school’s music program, who organised this amazing showcase of musical talent.
