This term in Greek LOTE students are exploring the Aesopica, a collection of Fables by the famous Ancient Greek storyteller, Aesop. Aesop’s Fables are entertaining morality tales which always relay and teach a moral or a lesson. The students began with ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’ and will move onto ‘ The Lion and the Mouse’ and ‘The Fox and the Grapes’ and many more. They are enjoying the topic and are learning to say and write the names of the characters in Greek and are engaged in creating various craft activities. Groups of students will also act out a Fable of their choice and will be encouraged to include some Greek language in their play.
