With the recent news of our state entering a lockdown some children and parents may feel a little unrest. It is important to continue to equip our children with coping strategies and provide them with wellbeing support throughout the lockdown.  Children at UPS participate in regular SEL (Social and Emotional Lessons) as well as mindfulness sessions. It is essential for children to know that during this lockdown they have support from a range of people. They can contact their teacher, friends, family members and professionals in mental health. Below are links to two resources that you may like to share with your children.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue provides people of all ages with support to help everyone achieve their best possible mental health. They provide many services including; trained counsellors 24/7, articles with ideas on how to support your child during the pandemic and podcasts about mental health.

Kidshelpline

The link below will take you to Kidshelpline, where children can read about other children’s experiences, learn more about mental health and call, email or webchat with a counsellor.

We wish you all the best during this time and hope to see everyone back at school soon.
