Dear families and friends of Unley Primary School,

The term is flying by and sadly for us it is now time to begin preparing for Peter O’Sullivan’s farewell. Peter is a remarkable principal and the Unley Primary School community will miss him dearly when he retires at the end of this term.

One of the things we admire about Peter’s leadership is the joy he finds in getting to know members of the school community. With his characteristic warm and friendly way, Peter has built strong connections with children, parents, teachers and leaders over his exceptional 44-year career in education.

With this in mind, we know many of you are looking forward to recognising Peter’s service to our school community and education more broadly.

We invite you to join us on Thursday 8 April at 6pm to help celebrate Peter’s contribution and wish him well for the next chapter. Please see the attached invitation for further details.

We ask that you RSVP here by Monday 29 March. Bookings are essential to ensure we comply with current capacity requirements for private functions.

This invitation extends to past and present UPS parents, and to Peter’s colleagues. You are welcome to share these details with others who may wish to help celebrate Peter’s retirement.

UPS students will have a separate opportunity to farewell Peter before the end of term and therefore this will be an occasion just for the adults.

Finally, please see below a brief note from the Unley Primary School Governing Council Chairperson, Luke Thomas, with details about how you can contribute to a gift for Peter if you wish.

Kind regards,

Dale, Julie and Amy

A note from the Unley Primary School Governing Council:

The end of Term 1 will see the retirement of our long-standing Principal, Peter O’Sullivan. On behalf of the broader school community, the Governing Council is organising a gift to present to Peter at his retirement celebration in appreciation of his commitment to the students and the school over the years. If you wish, you are invited to make a contribution toward this gift via the school’s Qkr app or by phoning the front office. We look forward to celebrating with you on 8 April.
