On Thursday, the UPS Swimming team headed to Payneham Pool to compete in the Adelaide South East District SAPSASA Swimming Carnival. The team, comprised of 17 year 4-7 students, have been anxiously awaiting the big day, and our impressive line-up of freestylers, breaststrokers, backstrokers and butterflyers were greeted with perfect weather for a dip.

There was plenty of success across the day with: a first place ribbon for Thomas B, seven second place ribbons (Aiden M x3, Eli H x2, Callum F & Thomas B) and three third places (Callum F x2, Eli H). The greatest achievement, however, was watching our UPS stars show true sportsmanship with plenty of high fives, ‘well dones’ and hand shakes.

As usual, the day could not run smoothly without assistance from parent volunteers. A huge thank you to all the parents who assisted with timekeeping and transporting, and for being the loudest and proudest cheer squad for our UPS athletes. We are earnestly waiting for final results to determine which of our swimmers will represent us at the state carnival later this term.
