Over the next month, Unley Primary School will be collecting household items for Foodbank SA. Foodbank SA is South Australia’s largest hunger relief organisation, and over 126,000 South Australian’s are assisted every month.

Through donations from the food and grocery industry, together with individual and Food Drive donations, Foodbank SA supplies food to more than 586 welfare agencies and community groups, and work with over 490 schools across Adelaide’s metro, regional and country areas. One third of those in need of Foodbank’s help are children.

Donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries are greatly appreciated.

In particular: cereal. long life milk, tuna, canned foods – including beans, spaghetti, meals, pasta and pasta sauce, tinned fruit and vegetables and toiletries – including sanitary products, toilet paper, toothbrushes.

When and where can you help?

Boxes will be placed in each classroom for students to leave donated items any day from Monday 25 May – Friday 19 June.
