Rm 1 was given a technology task of constructing a model treehouse. We used lots of recycled materials like cardboard and toilet paper rolls. We had a house template and some people painted theirs, others stuck tissue paper or just paper on it. We had 4 weeks to complete it altogether and they all looked great. All in all they were very entertaining and fun to create.

After making the tree houses we created stories based around our work. First we thought of a setting. It needed to be interesting and incorporate our treehouse into it. Next we needed to think of characters like elves, fairies and gnomes. Some people used characters like hunters and children. Then we thought of how the character came to live in the treehouse some people got trapped in the treehouse others had lived there happily their whole life, some people were even escaping from bears. Finally we needed to decide what happened to the characters. In the end some people escaped the bears others continued to live in the treehouse. It was important to ask questions of the audience and ask if they had any recommendations of how to improve our treehouses.

Finally it was time to share our hard work with the rest of the school. It was great fun explaining our scenarios and  watching the reactions of the students to our stories.
