Last week saw a few additional elements added to Tommy’s Garden.

The crowning piece was the elephant sculpture by local artist, Ty Manning. This has been a labour of love for our Facilities Committee, having worked tirelessly to source an appropriate tribute to Tommy, whose place in our history is capturing the attention and imagination of our local community. This story has been beautifully captured in the mural by Port Elliot artist Richard John.

Additional signage has been installed to clarify that this garden is in fact part of Unley Primary School.

If you have peeked into the caged section of our garden area you will have noticed the addition of a greenhouse, kindly donated by the d’Ambrosio family. The garden is developing nicely under the care and attention of our very own Tania Innocente. Together with Year 3 teacher, Danni Giro, the cycle of planting, cultivating and cooking is becoming a highlight of the week, often with tasty morsels making their way to the principal’s office. Much appreciated!
