This year we will be celebrating Book Week over two weeks. We are excited to have author and illustrator Sally Heinrich visiting us in Week 4; from Monday August 12th – Wednesday August 14th. Sally will meet each class for a session across the three days in the library. A fantastic opportunity to meet and talk with a brilliant Australian author. Her books include ‘Papa Sky’ and ‘One Step at a Time’ – this is a paid event and invoices for $6.00 went home last term.
In Week 5 The Book Week Program will run as follows –
Monday – Library sessions and classroom activities.
Tuesday –. Grandparents & Special Friends 9:15am – 10:15am – visitors in classrooms.
10:15am – Morning Tea in the Sports Arts Centre and choir performance.
Library sessions and classroom activities.
Wednesday – SCHOOL CLOSURE FOR STUDENTS – TEACHERS AT PARTNERSHIP SCHOOLS DAY
Thursday – Book Week Dress Up Parade – 9:15am To be held on the basketball courts, weather permitting at 9:20am or in the hall if weather is inclement. Parents are invited to watch the parade.Children can come dressed as a book character or something to do with the theme ‘Reading is my Secret Power’.
Friday – Library sessions and classroom activities.
