We are thrilled to welcome child and adolescent psychologist and well-respected speaker Dr Michael Carr-Gregg to Unley Primary School on 25 June to talk with us about the five greatest challenges for parents.

Michael is one of Australia’s leading authorities on parenting and young people and is the resident parenting expert on Channel 7’s Sunrise, psychologist for Channel 9’s Morning Extra, as well as the Morning Show with Neil Mitchell on Radio 3AW.

In his presentation, “The Five Greatest Challenges for Parents”, Michael will discuss what every parent needs to know about millennial parenting, including sleep, anxiety, online safety and other key issues.

The latest research shows that there has been a tripling of mental health presentations in 10-14 year olds (Hiscock 2018) and that over 60 per cent of parents lack confidence in their parenting (Australian Childhood Foundation). Dr Carr-Gregg will present the latest research on the mental health of our young people, along with several paradigms for effective, evidence-based strategies to build resilience and wellbeing in children and adolescents.

This session is the second in our series of annual keynote presentations hosted in collaboration with our partnership schools and as such is likely to book out quickly. Click here to book online and make the most of this great opportunity – we hope to see many UPS families there!
