Educating school kids about the importance of recycling and keeping the environment clean is a great initiative that schools around Adelaide have embarked upon. I was very fortunate to be part of Unley Primary School’s collaboration with KESEB which took place on 8th and 9th May 2019. Being a part of this initiative allowed me to learn about the importance of respecting our environment. We often do not evaluate the consequences of our actions and we do not see the entire process of waste disposal and efforts to recycle. I was involved in several activities such as collecting, sorting and weighing garbage to see how waste affects our environment differently. My involvement also allowed me to share knowledge and information about waste disposal with my fellow Unley students. I am very happy that I volunteered to be part of this amazing experience. I will definitely practice what I have learned and will consciously make an effort to look after our environment.
