This year’s Sports Day was one for the record books! With the inclusion of our Junior Primary students in the sports day houses, it was a very exciting and colourful time – and this was even before we had left for Unley Oval! The weather was on our side this year, making it perfect conditions for our students to showcase their sporting skills and, most importantly, their excellent team work skills. We’re sure you’ll agree how wonderful it was to see all the students giving each activity a go, trying their hardest and cheering not only their team mates on, but also the others. This was a great reflection of our school values and shows how our students uphold these ideals at all times, not just when they’re at school.

We would like to extend a huge congratulations to our capable House Captains; Micah, Ella, Zara, Andile, Monique and Zac, for all their hard work throughout term 1 in preparation for Sports Day. These leaders choreographed a very fun and active health hustle, which was the perfect start to the day. They were also great role models and an excellent support in our many relay and chant practices prior to the day.

Many thanks to the parents who supported the class teachers with event management and for providing great encouragement. Our thanks also for the support offered by Hark Café, Peter and Tammy Koukos for the generous donation of fresh fruit, and Daniel de Wit (Jacob’s dad) for his support with the inflatable obstacle course. What a special inclusion to this year’s Sports Day!

A big thankyou as well to Dale, Abbe, Linda, Maria, Emily, Amy and Katie who were our chief organisers for Sports Day 2019, and to all class teachers, ancillary staff and parents and friends who helped make the day such a success.

Oh, and for the record, congratulations to Cremorne who came out on top for the day!
