Our UPS Connect Governing Council Breakfast was a wonderful start to Friday.
Many thanks to those who could join us at the Cremorne Hotel for what was our second such breakfast. A significant part of the ticket price has gone to our UPS Building Fund, which aims to strengthen our position in regard to developing a STEM facility at our school. With Governing Council, and our allied sub committees, we are committed to making this a venture within the foreseeable future.
I commend the vision of Governing Council in supporting us in this way. I also thank the key players in organising the event: Christos Tsonis, David Firth, Stacey Thomas and Sophie Morrell. Their generosity and commitment, as with the rest of our Council, is outstanding.
Many thanks also to UPS parent, Mario Valente, from the NW/Haycom Group for once again supporting our audio visual needs. Thanks also to Will Snow, auctioneer and consummate entertainer for exacting the maximum for our auction items.
Our keynote speaker, Jessica Adamson, was inspirational, speaking about her role as a journalist and mother, committed to her profession and to making a positive difference. We appreciate Jessica’s generosity, waiving her usual fee for such an event.
We will look forward to the 2019 Breakfast – and are open to suggestions for a keynote speaker!
