Tuesdays and Wednesdays are always a busy time in the Sports Arts Centre when PE lessons are on! This term each of the year levels have been developing a range of skills, which will be especially handy with Sports Day coming up next week.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
We have been looking at the way our body moves through a range of different and fun activities. Whether it be dancing like specific animals or using our bodies to create shapes of different inanimate objects, we have been sure to have a dance each lesson. With sports day coming up, we have also been practising relay races and different fundamental movement skills that we will be participating in on sports day.
Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5
We have been playing a number of different games that are all designed to help develop our strategic game play and thinking in invasion sports (basketball, netball, football, rugby etc..). We have been involved in active class discussions regarding what aspects of the game worked well, what didn’t work well and what we could do as a class and individuals to improve the outcomes of specific play.
Year 6 and Year 7

We have also been looking at invasion sports and further developing our strategic thinking and game play in mini modified games. The specific games we have played have had different phases, meaning that as a class we discuss different modifications we can make to the game to improve game play/outcomes and then apply them to it.
