Fine motor skills are those that involve a refined use of the small muscles which control the hand, fingers and thumb.Fine motor skills are essential for performing everyday skills involving pencil and scissor work, manipulating LEGO, dressing dolls during play, tying shoe laces or securing buttons and sandals when getting ready for school.
The Year 2 students in Room 17 have been having fun engaging in ‘Fine Motor Friday’ to give those finger muscles a workout! Our activities range from beading, fancy scissor cutting, play dough, delicate stencil tracing and many more. Apparently their fingers are feeling stronger already!
